The Archaeology Study Program at Universitas Gadjah Mada welcomed an academic visit from Gloria Rosniat Waruwu, an Archaeology student from Universitas Udayana, on November 21, 2025. Gloria was formally received by the Head of the Undergraduate Archaeology Program at UGM, Dr. Mahirta, M.A.
Gloria’s visit aimed to support her research on starch grain analysis, an important method in archaeological studies for understanding past plant use and subsistence strategies. Through a collaborative initiative between Penelitian Arkeologi Terpadu Indonesia (PATI), Universitas Gadjah Mada, and Universitas Udayana, Gloria was given the opportunity to conduct her research at UGM, which provides more advanced laboratory facilities for starch grain analysis.
This collaboration reflects the growing synergy among Indonesian universities in strengthening integrated archaeological research. It is expected that this academic exchange will not only contribute to Gloria’s research, but also enhance institutional cooperation and the development of interdisciplinary archaeological studies in Indonesia.
