Tuesday, May 6, 2025 became a historic day for the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FIB UGM). Prof. Dra. Anggraeni, M.A., Ph.D., was officially inaugurated as Professor, marking a proud new chapter after a long period of vacancy after the retirement of Prof. Dr. Inajati Adrisijanti.
This inauguration is an important marker in the academic journey of Prof. Anggraeni, who has gone through a long process full of dedication and contribution to the world of Indonesian archaeology. With this, she becomes the fourth professor in the history of the Department of Archaeology, strengthening the department’s position as a center of excellence in archaeological studies.
The big family of the Department of Archaeology welcomes with pride and gratitude this achievement. Prof. Anggraeni’s spirit and perseverance are expected to be an inspiration for the next generation of academics. Along with prayers, I hope that the knowledge and thoughts she develops can provide broad benefits, not only for the academic world, but also for the development and preservation of Indonesia’s cultural heritage.
