Sofwan Noerwidi's perseverance and consistency in Prehistoric Archaeology have led him to become a specialist researcher in Paleoanthropology and Head of the BRIN Archaeometry Research Center. This alumnus of the Archaeology program at UGM, class of 1998, also completed his doctoral program at the Sorbonne University-National Museum of Natural History in Paris in the field of prehistory in 2020.

The speaker at this event was Ir. Salim Lee, A.Arch., a researcher from the Dharmamega Bumi Borobudur Foundation.

The Department of Archaeology at Gadjah Mada University, in collaboration with the Joint Secretariat of Mitra Praja Utama, held a workshop titled “Culturepreneurs in Heritage Areas.” The focus of this activity was the cultural heritage area of Lasem, Rembang Regency, Central Java, which has many tangible and intangible heritage sites.
To introduce the archaeological potential of the Karama River Valley in Mamuju Regency, South Sulawesi, the Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Gadjah Mada University, held a poster exhibition related to prehistoric research in the area. Dr. Anggraeni led the team, which included several students from the Archaeology Study Program at the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Gadjah Mada University.
The Department of Archaeology at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Gadjah Mada University, organized a community service activity targeting batik artisans around Banyunibo Temple. Together with students, they practiced making batik with motifs taken from Banyunibo Temple. The activity was carried out in the second half of 2021.
On November 14, 2019, the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Humanities, UGM welcomed around 300 students and teachers from Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Bogor. The group was received at the Poerbatjaraka Auditorium, Faculty of Humanities, UGM, by the Department Secretary, lecturers, and Public Relations staff of the Faculty of Humanities, UGM.

Celebrating its 55th anniversary, the Department of Archaeology at FIB UGM held a series of lustrum events with the theme of Archaeopreneurship. The event began with a blood donation drive, which was held on Friday, September 22, 2017.
To commemorate the 725th anniversary of the Majapahit Kingdom, Mandala Majapahit FIB UGM held a seminar entitled “Majapahit Cultural Heritage: Preservation from an Environmental Perspective.” The seminar was held at the UC Hotel, Bulaksumur complex, on November 27, 2018. The seminar was opened by the Dean of FIB UGM, Dr. Wening Udasmoro, who emphasized the importance of building narratives about our cultural heritage.
