Goals
To create and maintain an academic atmosphere that is conducive to the teaching and learning process, sharpening reasoning, enhancing knowledge and skills, and fostering moral character in accordance with UGM’s values.
To develop innovative and productive ideas through high-quality research in general archaeology, museology, and cultural heritage management, contributing significantly to humanistic, scientific, technological, and artistic values.
To actively participate in academic forums and publications in general archaeology, museology, and cultural heritage management at national and international levels.
To conduct high-quality community service activities in the field of archaeological resources and cultural heritage management that are beneficial to society.
To professionally run the organizational system in support of program implementation and facilitate good cooperation with related parties.
To improve infrastructure and facilities to support the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education in the fields of general archaeology, museology, and cultural heritage management.
To enhance the quality and quantity of outputs from the Tridharma of Higher Education by implementing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
Program Objectives:
a. To produce graduates with reliable competencies (demonstrated by a minimum GPA of 3.25) in their chosen specialization areas, as follows:
In General/Pure Archaeology:
To produce knowledge based on archaeological research.
To master archaeological knowledge, develop it, and apply it for public benefit.
In Museum Studies:
To design and manage museums by creatively and responsibly applying the latest museum studies knowledge in contemporary societal contexts.
To critically evaluate museums and address issues faced by museums.
In Cultural Heritage Management:
To apply skills responsibly in planning, analyzing, and managing cultural heritage with a preservation-oriented perspective.
To present their ideas in the field of cultural heritage management at national and international levels.
b. To produce research works (by lecturers and/or students) that are nationally and internationally recognized.
c. To carry out community service works (by lecturers and/or students) based on scientific knowledge—in this case, archaeology—and cultural heritage, to create positive impacts on society.
