Ulva Yunira and Corinthia Gracia Maharani, archaeology students at Gadjah Mada University, successfully won an award for innovative ideas through their work at the Borobudur Youth Engage Camp 2024 organized by UNESCO. The event was held in October 2024 at the Borobudur Village Economic Center. In the event, Ulva and Corin successfully advanced to the presentation stage among the top 15 participants before the judges after undergoing various selection rounds, ultimately winning the award at the competition’s conclusion and securing a grant of Rp. 10,000,000 (ten million rupiah). In this context, the two students’ abilities were recognized for their ability to package ideas, present concepts, and outline future implementation opportunities before the judges.

“Pimpah, or Pisang Rempah khas Borobudur (Borobudur Spiced Banana), is a delicious and healthy snack entrepreneurship idea. Pimpah combines the region’s signature elements such as bananas, Java sugar, spices, and inspiration drawn from the banana-themed reliefs of Borobudur Temple,” explained Corin as the group’s representative.

Corin also added that Pimpah has a mentoring program, which provides entrepreneurial ideas and workshops on product creation, design, and marketing to enhance community skills. Additionally, Pimpah aims to promote culinary tourism in the Borobudur region and its surroundings.

In this regard, Corin also hopes for the growth of economic independence for the Borobudur community and sustainable management of local resources through the Pimpah initiative he developed with his team.

The creativity and innovation of Ulva and Corin in achieving accomplishments in the field of innovative ideas reflect the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the areas of Quality Education through enhancing students’ skills, Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through innovative ideas generated, and Sustainable Cities and Communities through the preservation of cultural heritage. Through their interests and talents, it is hoped that students will continue to learn and inspire many others.
