
After obtaining Accreditation A, the Archaeology Study Program (Undergraduate Program) at FIB UGM received Excellent Accreditation status from BAN-PT. This Excellent Accreditation will be valid until 2027.

This good news was received by the Archaeology Study Program (S1), Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Gadjah Mada University (FIB UGM) from BAN-PT, which issued certificate number 5112/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/S/XII/2023. This achievement marks the study program’s strong commitment to improving the quality of education and maintaining high academic standards.
The accreditation process is an effort to assess the quality and excellence of an academic program. The Archaeology Program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of Gadjah Mada (UGM), has undergone a series of rigorous evaluations by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). Through this process, the program successfully achieved an “excellent” rating, solidifying its position as one of the top undergraduate Archaeology programs in Indonesia. This outstanding accreditation achievement is expected to open doors for the Archaeology Program at FIB UGM to be more active in research and international collaboration in the fields of education, research, and community service. With broader support and recognition, this program can become a center for archaeological research that positively impacts the development of knowledge in the field and the preservation of cultural heritage.

This is the commitment of the Archaeology Study Program at FIB UGM in providing a relevant and high-quality curriculum, as well as facilities that support student development. State-of-the-art archaeological laboratories, reference rooms, research facilities, and other adequate facilities are also determining factors in the excellence of this study program. Thus, students can develop their skills and knowledge well, both in theory and practice of archaeology.
This success would not have been possible without the support of all parties, including alumni and stakeholders who have always worked closely with the Archaeology Undergraduate Program.
