Stefani and Zaki, Archaeology students from Universitas Gadjah Mada, secured second place in the E-Incubation business idea competition organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada in September 2024. Together with their partner, CV. Mandira Heritage Group, Stefani and Zaki had the opportunity to present their business ideas, Mandira Brick and Mandira Puzzle, earning second place and receiving a cash prize of IDR 5,000,000 (five million rupiah).

“This event was the first competition I joined since entering university, and of course, the biggest challenge came from within myself. At times, I worried that I wouldn’t be able to deliver the best results. However, in the end, it all comes back to how I appreciate my efforts and personal growth up to this point. Although this competition wasn’t directly related to my field of study, which is Archaeology, with the help and support from friends, lecturers, and those closest to me, I decided to take my chances in this event,” explained Stefani.

Through this competition, Stefani and Zaki expressed their hope that they could bring pride to CV. Mandira Heritage Group as well as the Department of Archaeology at Universitas Gadjah Mada, participate in and win more competitions in the future, and remain humble without underestimating themselves.

The perseverance and achievements of Stefani and Zaki in winning a business idea competition reflect the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the area of Quality Education through the enhancement of student skills, and in Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure through their proposed business ideas. With their interests and talents, it is hoped that students will continue to learn and become an inspiration to many.
